The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), in its effort to educate and empower citizens to actively participate in public policy, is launching Policypedia, a repository of content on public policy and civic education.

The NESG Policypedia is a repository of terminologies and concepts in Public Policy, Economics, Behavioural Science, Governance, institutions, and the associated knowledge areas, written in clear language for non-specialists. The aim is to educate citizens so they can participate actively in governance and exercise their civic rights, well-informed.

Policypedia is a reliable source of knowledge and information on public policy. It is a repository of public policy terminology, particularly for non-experts. Public policy is critical to politics, governance, and civic responsibility.

Civic participation is crucial for the health and prosperity of a democracy. Without the input of the majority of the population, governments cannot work for the people and may instead make policies that only benefit a select few.

However, only well-informed citizens are more likely to engage policymakers in constructive conversations and be part of policymaking, which is good for our democracy.

The aim of Policypedia is to educate the general public on the subject of public policy and equip citizens with information that will empower and encourage them to carry out their civic duties responsibly and timely. When citizens understand the concept of policy making, participation becomes easier.
